Psychological Therapy & Counselling
(he/him)
I am a registered chartered psychologist and psychotherapist trained in person-centred therapy and emotion-focused therapy. I am highly trained in existentialism and phenomenology and incorporate these into my psychotherapeutic approach, as well as employing some elements of cognitive behavioural therapy and psychoanalysis. These approaches are employed in all forms of therapy I provide, whether you prefer to work online, outside in nature-based therapy or by phone.
With a genuine passion for helping people, I aim to provide a caring, empathetic and non-judgemental environment in which people can discuss and think through issues concerning them.
I come to counselling with an extensive and varied background, having worked as a qualified teacher in schools in Scotland, as well as within criminal justice in the USA working with street gangs, drug abuse and prisoners.
A Bit About Therapy
Guiding You On the Path of Self-Healing
The person-centred approach begins with the idea that the answer to our concerns and issues often lies within ourselves. With this in mind, I seek to provide an open and non-judgemental space for individuals to explore the concerns and issues causing feelings of uneasiness or distress. The focus will be on the feelings and emotions underlying your concerns to allow space to explore different ways to experience and understand those things that can at times be overwhelming.
